By comparison, if you need to manage your game server top to bottom, alter practically every element of it (e.g. edit server xml config files), you probably should explore some other solutions like bare dedicated server or VPS.

Each component like game server, mod and mod-pack is versioned. Not all work with each other. Not to mention various random generated maps.
